NGC 2903 – Barred Spiral Galaxy

Astrophotography

I imaged the barred spiral galaxy NGC 2903, found in the constellation of Leo, last week using a 12″ F4 Newtonian telescope and a mono APC sized astronomical CMOS camera. NGC 2903 is slightly smaller than the Milky Way with a diameter of 80,000 light-years, and it is located around 25 million light-years away. At the right of this photo, you can see the dwarf elliptical galaxy UGC 5086 situated about 1.86 million light years further from its parent galaxy.
