Finally we have had a clear night in Nelson! Although not ideal for astrophotography with the moon being close to full. Nevertheless, given the long wait for a decent clear, windless night I got out one of my rigs and pointed to NGC 1365. This is a double-barred spiral galaxy about 75 million light years away in the constellation Fornax. I will collect some more data over time to improve the image, as the moon light has impacted on the colours. This was processed in Pixinsight from a mono camera data using red, green, blue, luminance and Hydrogen alpha filters.
